Had a lovely weekend and seem to have caught a cold. My head is full and I'm a bit achy, but other than that, it seems mild. Hoping it stays that way.

T'was a time I'd have believed that - but there are too many Republicans who've come of age when people were talking about how funding for PBS is immoral and horrible and unconstitutional, and don't realize that it was all just a game to excite the base and give people something to bitch about. Ditto for abortion, Amtrak, helping the poor, etc..

Eh. I grew up singing "Gravy train dog food is what Jimmy Carter eats!" in the 76 election and I still value big bird. So that sort of thing winds up being the view of a very stupid minority and people looking to drive donations.
